The Final Bow!
This week is the last episode of the Drew Carson Show podcast. It has been a long journey and so much fun. From the highs of interacting with you guys and gals, talking to some incredible people who have become great friends to the lows of interviews that got away from me, interviews that never made it to air and episodes disappearing from the feed for no goddamn reason you have stuck by me, supported me, encouraged me and we have grown together.
I grew in confidence and became less socially awkward and you all grew into an immense crowd of supportive friends. The fact that more people listened to my little show each week than attend most football (soccer) grounds in Scotland on a Saturday has humbled me greatly. You hear a lot of podcasters talking about their 50,000 over all downloads or 5,000 strong subscribers list to me you have never been numbers but 1,000s of people sharing in this journey and interacting along the way and you all kept me going through the tough times. I will never forget any of you but it was time for a change and for me to pursue some new and exciting challenges.
In this episode I will talk about the history of the show, my best and worse interviews some of the ups and downs of the show and what I learned along the way. If you are a podcaster or interested in how to put a podcast like mine together then this episode will be for you. Learn from my mistakes and repeat my successes and maybe you will have as much fun as I have.
There might be a surprise or two on the show, shout-outs and thank yous to boot.
And oh yeah I will talking about my Christmas Special "Drinks With Drew" which will be available only on Facebook and Smiletime. The first two guests of which will be announced on Facebook and Twitter on Nov 30th and the final guest will be announced on this very episode. So add my little channel over on Smiletime so you don't miss any of the fun.
And if you want to continue the journey with me add my wee website and social media accounts for Terror Firma.

End Of An Era!
After taking some much needed time away to reflect on both life and on the direction of the podcast I have come to the realization it is time to step back from the Drew Carson show all together.
I have had a tremendous time interviewing some amazing people and making friends with a lot of them and of course the greatest part was interacting with you all. This journey started at a time when socializing was a scary prospect for me and you guys and gals made it that little bit easier each and every week.
I have realized that the show has evolved beyond what I set it out to be which in some ways was a good thing and in others not so much. I need to get back to basics and to pursue a new direction in podcasting all together.
I will be recording 1 or 2 more episodes to round the show up and I will be featuring some great guests on those shows so watch out for them in the coming weeks.
I want to take this time to thank each and every one of you who stuck by the show and by me over the last year and a half and I want to also say that this is not the end of my podcasting journey just the end of this particular show.
Some of you will like the new idea I have some of you will probably hate it which is all good. I will post up a link to the new show when it is ready on here and on social media and I will see you crazy cats in the coming weeks for the final few episodes.
Lets make them the best of the best.
Thank you.
~Drew

The What? With Drew Episode 1 Alien Beliefs
Halloween special time folks!
Here we have the links to the brief wee intro I recorded for the episode, the episode itself and my after thoughts. It took months of work to cut this episode down to just shy of 34 minutes from 3 hours haha and I took out a couple of talking heads that I later discovered were charlatans. It's been an epic journey and it's only just beginning as I will be doing it all over again for episode 2 which should be available.... should be..... in January.
The regular Drew Carson Show will be back next week with a bang so don't miss that and I hope you enjoy this special!
All media audio clips were used under the fair use act.
You can find out more about Dr. Kitei's documentary by visiting her website.

With Alien Beliefs, the first episode of The What? This time sees yours truly, a self confessed sweet tooth step away from the sugary delights and all refined sugar and bad carbs for that matter as I go 30 days without any added sugar. This isn't me jumping on any bandwagon or fad diet this is a numpty's attempt at research to see what effects it will have on my mental and physical health. I will be recording audio diaries all the way through and keeping track of my mood, my weight, my waistline and if I can actually stick to it for a month.
I will also be putting up menu plans and updates on here, Twitter, my Instagram account and the Drew Carson Show Facebook page so if you haven't already check them out at the links provided below.
Here's my before pic from a recent bevvy session at a pub, another thing I won't be doing drinking alcohol, damn didn't think about that haha. This Week's Guest Is Die Hard 2, Bad Boys & Lucky Dey Series Writer Doug Richardson
On this week's show I welcomed the great Doug Richardson into the virtual studio to discuss his illustrious writing career that has taken him from writing films such as Die Hard 2, Money Train, Hostage and Welcome To Mooseport to writing the kick-arse Lucky Dey series of books.
We talked working with Bruce Willis, how Will Smith was already a movie mega-star in waiting prior to Bad Boys and craft of both screenwriting and novel writing. This is a must listen for anyone interested in screenwriting or interested in hearing a cool as fuck guy talk shit with this Scotsman. This was one of my all time favourite interviews on the show so remember to click subscribe and tell your friends already... if you haven't... yeah!
Bio:
Doug Richardson was born in Arcadia, California. The son of a career politician, Doug did most of his growing up on a small ranch in the rural foothills outside Sacramento. He was twelve when he discovered his father’s collection of Ian Fleming’s James Bond paperbacks on a shelf in his parent’s converted garage. What followed was a teenage obsession with the film series and then cinema in general.
Though Doug attended The USC School for Cinematic Arts with ambitions to become a movie director, while there he discovered his affection for writing screenplays. After leaving USC, Doug directed a few educational films, but his sights remained set on Hollywood. After reading some of his first screenplays, Warner Brothers offered Doug a two-year contract—one of the last “paid by the week” studio writer gigs.
In 1989 20th Century Fox hired Doug to adapt Walter Wager’s novel 58 Minutes into the first sequel to their hit movie Die Hard. In 1990, it was released as Die Hard 2, Die Harder. Around the same time period, Doug and his one-time writing partner, Rick Jaffa, garnered national attention when their spec screenplay, Hellbent…and Back was the first in Hollywood to sell for a million dollars. He has since written and produced feature films including the box office smash Bad Boys (1995), Money Train (1995), and Hostage (2005). In 2004 Doug produced the comedy Welcome to Mooseport.
While in between movie projects, Doug managed to finish his first novel, Dark Horse. The political thriller was published in 1997 by Avon/Morrow, who released Doug’s second novel True Believers two years later.
While Doug continues to work in Hollywood developing motion pictures and TV pilots, he finds writing novels provides him the greatest satisfaction and reward. 2011’s The Safety Expert marked Doug’s return to penning novels and is his first modern-day L.A. Noir thriller. In 2013’s Blood Money, Doug introduced readers to Lucky Dey, an on-again/off-again Los Angeles County Sheriff’s detective who is both willful and acerbic to a dangerous fault.
99 Percent Kill, A Lucky Dey Thriller (2015) is the first of Doug’s Lucky Dey series. With his “uncanny ability to glimpse into the brutality and instability not only of the criminal mind, but also a darkness in the heroes” (IndieReader), Doug winds readers through a sinister L.A. landscape where unlikely worlds intersect to create a stew of tension and suspense. Lucky Dey returns in Doug’s forthcoming thriller, Reaper: A Lucky Dey Thriller, coming May 2016.
In addition to writing for the screen and print, Doug posts a weekly blog on his website, dougrichardson.com, where he shares personal anecdotes from his thirty-year showbiz career. A collection of his blogs, The Smoking Gun: True Tales from Hollywood’s Screenwriting Trenches was published in 2015.
While not behind his computer Doug enjoys hitting little white balls towards faraway holes, fine cigars, and a smooth glass of scotch on the rocks. He lives in Southern California with his wife, two children and four mutts.

This Week's Guests Are Noel Gourdin & Mark Beaumont
It seems to be a trend now as yet again we welcome not one but two guests into the virtual studio this week in the form of US top 40 R&B recording artist Noel Gourdin and record-breaking long distance cyclist, adventurer, broadcaster and author Mark Beaumont.
Noel bio:
Soul and R&B singer Noel Gourdin did not have a traditional childhood. He was born in Brockton, MA but spent his summers with family in Pachuca, Mississippi. The result is a man who is city to the heart but southern to the soul. He honed his skills in Brockton, MA, and by the age of 24 scored a deal with Sony and had his first album in stores. His first exposure to the vocal arts came in church and he was introduced to the larger canon of soul music by his father (who introduced him to the classics, such as Otis Redding) and his brother (who turned him on to the sounds of new jack swing). Noel is influenced by classic soul as well as the contemporary sounds of R&B and hip-hop. Therefore his music is a seamless blend of each genre. “Listening to so much music from so many different eras really helped me put my style together,” explains the gifted singer-songwriter.
You can find Noel at these links:

Mark's bio:
Mark Beaumont is a record-breaking long distance cyclist,
broadcaster and author. He held the record for cycling round the world,
completing his 18,297 miles route in 194 days 17 hours. He later completed a
quest to cycle th Americas, cycling from Anchorage, Alaska to Southern Argentina,
for a BBC documentary series.
Mark also set the record for completing the Coast 500 (a 518.7 mile route around Scotland) by bicycle in 37 hours 56 minutes and 44 seconds.

Secondly we have an interview with Model Ria Schumacher who served 12 years of a 25 year prison sentence when she was wrongly convicted of murder. Ria is now ready to tell all in a new book series.
Bio:
KANSAS CITY, MO – If you lived in Illinois in the mid-nineties you would know the name Ria Schumacher. Ria was seventeen at the time and was asked to go with her mother’s boyfriend and brother for a drive. The trip turned out to be a drug deal and the deal went bad and ended in the murder of the man they were selling drugs to.
The homicide left Ria with a twenty five year prison sentence because she was tried as an adult. Ria’s life was taken from her and she was not expected be free again until her early-forties. But after twelve years and ten appeals, Ria Schumacher was finally released due to her “lack of involvement”. Now at the age of thirty-seven, Ria is finally ready to tell the entire story in a three part book series.
The books are going to be released in the beginning of 2017 starting with Where the Truth Lies, which will, for the first time, tell a completely candid account of the events from this high-profile case. Ria Schumacher did not hold back anything in this memoir. She is releasing every aspect of the case and trial and exposing the injustice she received from the Illinois state judicial system.
After her prison release, Ria has returned to her career in modeling that she began as a teenager, and has also been a regular motivational speaker in the same prison system that robbed her from the best years of her life. Ria was also on season eleven of the Dr. Phil show where she was given advice by Dr. Phil on how to cope with life after facing this life-altering tragedy.

The crime thriller tells the story of a ruthless immigrant’s persistent quest for power and fame which leads to the development of a new addictive drug that allows the user to reach an ultimate high while still remaining a productive member of society.
